The Immigration Department announced today (January 26) that six more passenger e-channels had been activated at the departure hall of Lok Ma Chau control point, bringing the total number of e-channels available there to 12. The e-channels are open to the public from 9am to 5pm daily.
Hong Kong permanent residents and holders of Document of Identity for Visa Purposes (aged 11 or above) holding smart identity cards may use the e-channels to perform self-service clearance.
A spokesman for the department reminded people that passengers with finger skin too dry or wet or unclean would encounter difficulties with fingerprint verification. To avoid delay, they should moisten, wipe or clean their fingers before entering e-channels.
