Good deeds go with Chinese New Year - let's give blood! (with photos)
********************************************************

As the Year of the Dog is approaching, the Blood Transfusion Service (BTS) would like to call for the public to give blood during the Chinese New Year holidays so as to maintain adequate blood supply. The BTS has organised a series of activities to celebrate the festive season with blood donors. As hospitals' recent demand for type O blood is relatively higher, we would also like to call for more O blood group donors.

Chinese New Year Special
Blood donors who give blood on January 28 (Chinese New Year's Eve), January 30 (the second day of the Chinese New Year) and January 31 (the third day of the Chinese New Year) will be presented with a limited edition of a Blood Donation Crystal Heart (Photo A). For donors who give blood from February 1-5, they will be presented with a"Hand in Hand" Blood Donation Coaster Set (Photo A) while stock lasts.

Visit by God of Fortune
During the Chinese New Year public holidays, some Blood Donor Centres will provide service as usual. The BTS has also arranged the God of Fortune (Photo B) to meet blood donors at Donor Centres to bring them good fortune. Details are attached at Appendix A.

"Creative Blood Donation Promotion Short Video Clip" competition (in Chinese)
Donors are also invited to video-record their blood donation during the festive season to enter the captioned competition to motivate more people to give blood.

For details of the above activities and blood donation information, please visit the website of BTS at http://www.ha.org.hk/rcbts or contact the BTS at 2710 1234.

The BTS sincerely invites members of the public to give blood during the Chinese New Year holidays to help patients in need.
