Enrol now for flower show photo competition (with photo)
********************************************************

Photography enthusiasts are invited to enter the Enchanting Beauty Photo Competition, which is being held in conjunction with the annual spectacular Hong Kong Flower Show.

The competition is jointly organised by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) and Television Broadcasts Limited (TVB) and sponsored by Schmidt Marketing (HK) Ltd.

Featuring the dianthus as this year's theme flower, the flower show will take place from March 3 to 12 in Victoria Park, from 9am to 9pm daily.

The competition promotes community greening with impressive photographs of flowers and plants on display; interesting or touching scenes captured at the showground; and portraits of TVB entertainers and Miss Hong Kong 2005 titleholders with garden displays as a background.

The competition is divided into three categories. Category A, "Portrait of TVB Artistes and Miss Hong Kong", comprising Open and Student Sections, will hold its shooting session from 3.30pm to 4.30pm on March 2 in Victoria Park.

Entrants in Category A may enrol in person at any LCSD Leisure Link Outlets, or by calling 2922 8008 / 2927 8080 / 2606 2111 between January 24 and February 26. The maximum number of entrants is 1,000. Places will be allowed on a first-come, first-served basis. Entry fees are $30 for adults and $15 for students, senior citizens and people with a disability.

It is not necessary to apply in advance for Category B, "Flowers", and Category C, "Snapshots". However, entrants are required to pay admission fees to enter the showground during the show period. Photographs must be related to the Hong Kong Flower Show 2006 and taken during the show period.

All entries must be submitted by mail or in person to the Secretary of Show Committee, Hong Kong Flower Show 2006, 11/F, Leisure and Cultural Services Headquarters, 1-3 Pai Tau Street, Sha Tin by 5.30pm on April 13.

In each category, there will be first prize, second prize, third prize and a number of commendations. Results of the competition will be announced on the LCSD website at www.lcsd.gov.hk in late May. Winners will be notified in writing regarding collection of prizes. All winning entries will be put on display at Kowloon Park Arcade and Green Education and Resource Centre between June and July.

For details of the photo competition, please refer to the leaflets and entry forms available at the Leisure Services District Offices of LCSD, or visit LCSD website. For enquiries, please call 2697 8030.
