He Guangbei appointed to HKEx Risk Management Committee

    The Financial Secretary has appointed Mr He Guangbei to succeed Mr Peter Wong as member of the Risk Management Committee (RMC) of the Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx).

     The appointment, made under the Securities and Futures Ordinance, is from tomorrow (January 20, 2006) when Mr He takes over chairmanship of the Hong Kong Interbank Clearing Limited from Mr Wong and will run until January 19, 2008.

     The RMC was established in March, 2000, with the statutory role of formulating policies on risk management matters relating to activities of the HKEx and its subsidiaries for consideration by the board of the HKEx.

     䩕We are thankful to Mr Wong for his invaluable contributions to the RMC during his term of office. His expertise and dedication have greatly facilitated the work of the RMC,蒅 a Government spokesman said today ( January 19).  

     The RMC is chaired by the Chairman of the HKEx, currently the Hon Charles Lee. The other serving members of the RMC are the Hon Henry Fan, Dr Bill Kwok, Professor Chan Ka-lok, Mr Fong Hup, Mr Martin Wheatley and Mr Eddie Yue.
