A prisoner in Stanley Prison was today (Saturday, January 14) sent to hospital for injuries sustained during an attack by two prisoners.
The injured prisoner, surnamed Ho and aged 32, and three other prisoners were attacked by two prisoners while in the assembly hall in the "A" complex prior to beginning work at about 8.45 am.
The two assailants, one of whom using ballpens, were immediately stopped by Correctional Services Department (CSD) staff.
Ho, who sustained injuries to his face and head, was sent to Queen Mary Hospital.
The cause of the attack was being investigated by CSD officers.
The case was also reported to the Police.
