Exercise in LCSD indoor venues has its rewards
**********************************************

Regular exercise is good for health, and people using indoor leisure facilities of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) can now benefit with the launch of a new reward scheme that promotes off-peak hours usage.

An LCSD spokesman said the department was committed to providing a variety of leisure facilities for people to enjoy and improve their physical fitness.

"With this in mind, we are launching the 'Reward Scheme for Use of Leisure Facilities' to encourage people to get into the habit of regular exercise by making use of LCSD's leisure facilities during non-peak hours before 5pm on weekdays," the spokesman said.

The "Reward Scheme for Use of Leisure Facilities" will be run from January 3 to March 31, 2006, and it is simple to join.

Every time an individual hirer checks in for using a fee-charging indoor leisure facility from when the venue opens through to 5pm, Mondays to Fridays (except public holidays), a stamp will be added to his/her Stamp Collection Card.

Leisure facilities range from the main arenas, squash courts, table-tennis tables, American Pool tables, dance rooms, activity rooms, fitness rooms, climbing walls, bowling greens to golfing facilities.

After accumulating the required number of stamps within the validity period of the card, the hirer will get a practical souvenir gift of either a towel or water bottle.

Anyone who has collected 15 stamps can enter a lucky draw. There will be 100 winners who can each get a spectacular set of 32 "Chinese Gold Medallists in the Athens Olympic Games" key rings.

The lucky draw will be held on April 18, 2006. A list of the winners will be uploaded to the LCSD website and posted at sports centres in all districts. Winners will also be notified individually.

Enquiries can be made at all District Leisure Services Offices or call 2601 8547, or visit the LCSD website at www.lcsd.gov.hk for more information.
