Two Mainlanders charged with theft of Buddhist pines

    Police today (December 28) charged two Mainland men, aged 30 and 35, each with one count of theft.

     They were arrested for stealing Buddhist pines in Sai Kung during an anti-illegal immigrant and smuggling operation yesterday.

     Police vessels intercepted a target boat off east of Yin Tsz Ngam after a hot pursuit. Six Buddhist pines were seized from the boat and the men on board were arrested.

     They were each charged with one count of theft today and will appear in Kwun Tong Magistrates﷿ Courts tomorrow (December 29).
