Powering to the top
*******************

The CLP Power Academy opened last year and saw an overwhelming response to its first course, receiving over 170 applications for the 40 available places.

A new batch of students is being recruited for the course. The number of academy places has been doubled to 80. The enrolment deadline is January 19.

This year the academy will offer a degree programme in power engineering and also develop a diploma course in the field for Secondary 3 graduates.

News.gov.hk interviewed the academy's Vice Chancellor, Mr Paul Poon, and CLP Power Overhead Line Tradesman Chong Kin-fai, who enrolled in last year's professional diploma course, to see how the programmes can benefit students.

The story appears on news.gov.hk today (January 14) in text and video format.
