Services of Robert Black General Clinic to be relocated during renovation period

The spokesperson for Kowloon Central Cluster today (January 14) announced the temporary service relocation of Robert Black General Out-patient Clinic at 600 Prince Edward Road East, San Po Kong due to renovation works for the enhancement of its environment and service capacity. Relocation of clinic services will start from 6pm this Thursday (January 18). The renovation is scheduled to complete in the fourth quarter of 2018 and the clinic services are expected to resume at the original location.
Special arrangements will be made by the cluster to maintain the provision of normal general clinic services during the renovation period. The service quota for day service of the clinic will be shared by and relocated to two clinics: East Kowloon General Out-patient Clinic (address: 1/F, Extension Block, 160 Hammer Hill Road, Diamond Hill) and Wang Tau Hom Jockey Club General Out-patient Clinic (address: 200 Junction Road, Wang Tau Hom). The evening, Sunday and public holiday service of the clinic will be relocated to Our Lady of Maryknoll Hospital Family Medicine Clinic (address: G/F, Out-patient Block, Our Lady of Maryknoll Hospital, 118 Shatin Pass Road, Wong Tai Sin). The service hours will remain unchanged (details are appended below).
According to the spokesperson, patients with chronic illnesses requiring regular follow-up at the clinic have already been informed and arrangements have been made for them to attend follow-up appointments at the relocated clinic during the renovation period. Patients with episodes of illness can make appointments via the telephone appointment system as usual and attend their appointments at the three clinics as mentioned above.
"Upon completion of the renovation, the pedestrian covered walkway originally adjacent to the clinic will be included as clinic area to expand clinic services. There will be enhancement of the infection control facilities as well as the environment of the pharmacy and the waiting area," the spokesperson said.
In addition, Kowloon Central Cluster will also carry out construction works for the relevant departments to optimise the barrier-free access of the building, including the installation of a lift for patients and other service users, especially the elderly and persons with disabilities.
"We have already informed the residents in the district on the service arrangements through various channels, including poster notices, an information leaflet, and briefing to respective District Councillors. A reminder message will also be added to the Telephone Appointment System of Robert Black General Out-patient Clinic," the spokesperson added.
