The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority:
The spokesperson for the Tuen Mun Hospital gave the following update today (April 17) regarding an earlier announcement on a cluster of Multi-Drug Resistant Acinetobacter (MDRA) in a male rehabilitation ward.
The hospital has continued with the screening procedures and confirmed two more male patients (aged 88 and 98) to have MDRA. Both patients are now in stable conditions and hospitalised under medical surveillance and isolation.
The cases have been reported to the Hospital Authority Head Office and the Centre for Health Protection for necessary follow-up. The hospital will continue the enhanced infection control measures and closely monitor the situation.
