The spokesperson for New Territories West Cluster made the following announcement today (March 21):
Three patients (aged 57 to 66) in a male adult psychiatric ward in Castle Peak Hospital had presented with respiratory symptoms since March 17. Appropriate viral tests had been arranged for the patients and their test results were positive to Enterovirus. The patients concerned are being treated under isolation with stable condition.
In Siu Lam Hospital, it was announced earlier that a cluster of patients in a male ward for severe intellectual disability had been confirmed with Coronavirus NL63. The ward today updated with one more 51-year-old patient confirmed as positive to Coronavirus NL63. The patient concerned is being treated under isolation with stable condition.
Admission to the two wards concerned has been suspended and restricted visiting has been imposed. Infection control measures have already been stepped up according to established guidelines. All other patients in the wards are under close surveillance.
The cases have been reported to the Hospital Authority Head Office and the Centre for Health Protection for necessary follow-up.
