The Secretary for Innovation and Technology, Mr Nicholas W Yang, today (January 22) called on the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC) before concluding his visit to Beijing.
Mr Yang met with the Vice Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Mr Huai Jinpeng, in the morning. Mr Yang said that the Mainland and Hong Kong will strengthen exchanges and collaboration on innovation and technology under the Belt and Road Initiative, the "Internet Plus" plan and the "Made in China 2025" strategy.
This was followed by a visit to the CAC, where Mr Yang held a meeting with Deputy Director Mr Zhuang Rongwen. Both sides agreed to strengthen collaboration on cyber security and promoting innovation and entrepreneurship.
Having concluded his visit to Beijing, Mr Yang returned to Hong Kong today.
