The Civil Engineering and Development Department (CEDD) today (January 22) invited tenders for the contract for the Phase 2 Stage 1 improvement works at Mui Wo to increase the car park capacity and improve the road safety and environment of the area.
The works mainly comprise:
* extension of an existing car park adjacent to Mui Wo Ferry Pier Road, the necessary modification works to this existing car park and slope improvement works;
* construction of a new single two-lane carriageway approximately 55 metres long and realignment of a section approximately 80 metres long of an access road adjacent to Mui Wo Ferry Pier Road leading to the car park; and
* landscaping and other ancillary works.
The works are scheduled to commence in mid-2016 for completion in mid-2018.
The CEDD has commissioned Jacobs China Limited to design and supervise the works. Interested contractors may obtain the tender forms and other particulars from the company at 15/F, Cornwall House, Taikoo Place, 979 King's Road, Quarry Bay.
