The Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Gregory So, will depart for Davos, Switzerland, tomorrow (January 22) to attend the World Trade Organization (WTO) Informal Ministerial Gathering to be held on January 23.
The gathering will offer the first opportunity for Ministers to exchange views on major challenges facing the WTO's negotiations after its 10th Ministerial Conference held in Nairobi, Kenya, last December, including how meaningful outcomes may be achieved in multilateral trade negotiations going forward.
Mr So will return to Hong Kong in the evening on January 24. The Under Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Godfrey Leung, will be the Acting Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development during Mr So's absence.
