The Secretary for Home Affairs, Mr Lau Kong-wah, met with the Minister of the General Administration of Sport of China, Mr Liu Peng, in Beijing today (November 25) to introduce the latest sports developments promoted by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government.
Mr Lau said, "The HKSAR Government thanks the General Administration of Sport of China for its support for Hong Kong sports development. It provides the opportunity for Hong Kong athletes to participate in high-level national games. I hope the two sides can continue to co-operate on sports exchanges."
This morning, Mr Lau met with the President of the All-China Youth Federation, Mr He Junke, at its headquarters to discuss new opportunities and items on promoting youth exchanges between the two places. Yesterday evening, Mr Lau also met Hong Kong undergraduates studying in Beijing to learn more about their learning and living conditions there.
Mr Lau will return to Hong Kong this evening.
