The Electoral Affairs Commission (EAC) announced that as the opening of the poll for the 2015 District Council Ordinary Election this morning (November 22) was delayed owing to a problem with the gate at the polling station at Shau Kei Wan Post Office (C0501), after taking into consideration relevant circumstances, the EAC has decided to extend the polling hour for the polling station for 10 minutes to 10.40pm for the affected electors to cast their votes.
According to section 5(g) of the Electoral Affairs Commission Ordinance, the Commission may do such other incidental act or thing or exercise such powers as it considers necessary or expedient for the performance of its functions under this or any other Ordinance.
