SCED continues to attend APEC Ministerial Meeting (with photos)

     The Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Gregory So, this morning (November 17) continued to attend the 27th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Ministerial Meeting (AMM) in Manila, the Philippines.

     Mr So first attended the dedicated session of trade ministers on APEC's support for the multilateral trading system and the 10th Ministerial Conference of the World Trade Organization.

     Mr So also participated in the AMM plenary session to discuss with other ministers on how to achieve inclusive growth through sustainable and resilient communities. During the meeting, Mr So shared details of Hong Kong's experience of investing in human capital and innovation with other APEC member economies.

     On the margins, Mr So had a bilateral meeting with the Minister of International Trade of Canada, Ms Chrystia Freeland, to exchange views on how to strengthen economic and trade co-operation between Hong Kong and Canada, as well as to promote and encourage the development of creative industry and start-ups.

     In the afternoon, Mr So will take the opportunity to meet with commerce and trade ministers of other APEC member economies.
