The Legislative Council (LegCo) will hold a meeting on Wednesday (November 18) at 11am in the Chamber of the LegCo Complex. During the meeting, Members will debate a motion on safeguarding Hong Kong from "Mainlandisation".
The motion, to be moved by Ms Claudia Mo, states: "That this Council urges the Government to respect the local history and culture and to safeguard Hong Kong from 'Mainlandisation', so as to honour the undertaking in the Basic Law that the previous way of life of Hong Kong residents shall remain unchanged for 50 years."
Mr Gary Fan will move an amendment to Ms Claudia Mo's motion.
Mr Steven Ho will also move a motion on the Report of the Subcommittee on Hawker Policy. The motion states: "That this Council notes the Report of the Subcommittee on Hawker Policy."
Meanwhile, Ms Cyd Ho will move a proposed resolution under section 34(4) of the Interpretation and General Clauses Ordinance to extend the period for amending the Census and Statistics (2016 Population Census) Order laid on the table of the Council on October 28, 2015 to the meeting of December 16, 2015.
Mr Kenneth Leung will move a proposed resolution under section 37B(4) of the Air Pollution Control Ordinance to extend the period for amending the Fifth Technical Memorandum for Allocation of Emission Allowances in Respect of Specified Licences laid on the table of the Council on October 28, 2015 to the meeting of December 16, 2015.
During the meeting, Members will also ask the Government 22 questions on various policy areas, six of which require oral replies.
