The Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Gregory So, will leave Hong Kong on November 10 for a meeting with officials of the China National Tourism Administration (CNTA) in Beijing on the morning of November 11 to discuss tighter control on the tourism markets of the two places.
Also attending the meeting will be the Commissioner for Tourism, Miss Cathy Chu; the Chairman of the Travel Industry Council of Hong Kong, Mr Michael Wu; and the Executive Director of the Travel Industry Council of Hong Kong, Mr Joseph Tung.
After the meeting, Mr So will take the opportunity to visit the intellectual property trading platform in Zhongguancun.
Mr So will return to Hong Kong on November 11. The Under Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Godfrey Leung, will be the Acting Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development during Mr So's absence.
