The Chief Secretary for Administration, Mrs Carrie Lam, chaired the 11th meeting of the Commission on Poverty (CoP) in its second term this afternoon (November 2).
The CoP continued to discuss the draft consultation document for the upcoming public consultation on retirement protection in December. Members will resume discussions on the remaining chapters at the next meeting.
At today's meeting, some members expressed grave concerns on the leakage of the content of the draft consultation document before and after last meeting, as well as the disclosure of comments raised by a few specific members at the meeting. Mrs Lam urged all members to respect and comply with the confidentiality agreement of the CoP again.
Members noted that the Secretariat will revise the draft consultation document with reference to the CoP's deliberations and aim to finalise the text in good time so that the public consultation can be launched in December as scheduled.
