At about 6pm yesterday (October 25), the Marine Department (MD) received a report that a high-speed craft carrying 163 passengers and 11 crew members, departing from Macau for Hong Kong, had an incident in the waters outside Siu A Chau and lost power.
It is currently known that about 100 persons were injured in the incident and 112 passengers had reached the Central Pier. There are still 51 passengers on the high-speed craft, ambulance staff have provided basic dressing to the injured persons. The Government Flying Service will carry the injured persons to the urban area for treatment. Staff of the MD, the Fire Services Department, the Marine Police and the shipping company are providing assistance.
