Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Sheung Shui this morning (October 22) in which a 39-year-old man died.
At about 10 am, a light goods vehicle (LGV) driven by a 68-year-old man was travelling along Lok Yip Road towards Sha Tau Kok Road. When driving near On Lok Tsuen, it reportedly knocked down the 39-year-old man who was crossing the road.
The man sustained head injury and was rushed to North District Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 10.51am.
The driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for further enquiries.
Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North are underway.
