Members of the public are invited to participate in the "Dialogue! Tactic·Strategy" forum to be held by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) on October 31 and November 1 (Saturday and Sunday). Art professionals, artists and academics from Hong Kong, the Mainland and further afield will attend the forum to discuss current affairs and issues in the field of art, as well as share experiences and analyse case studies.
Admission is free with seating for 70 on a first-come, first-served basis.
The forum aims to explore with art practitioners and other stakeholders how members of the art field can form a cohesive community, develop and promote innovative ideas and discover and integrate potential resources to extend the influence of contemporary art practices.
The two-day forum will be held from 10am to 6pm at Oi!, 12 Oil Street, North Point. The speakers for the first day include Miyo Okada (Japan); Ni Kun (Chongqing); Chen Hui-chiao (Taipei); and Vangi Fong, South Ho, Lee Wai-yi, Mathias Woo, Yuen Siu-cheong, Clara Cheung, May Fung, Sara Wong, Yeung Yang, Grace Cheng, Orlean Lai and Him Lo (Hong Kong).
The speakers for the second day will be Tetsuyuki Imataki (Japan); Lewis Biggs and Conor Roche (United Kingdom); Carol Lu (Beijing); Daniel Ho (Shanghai); Chang Tieh-chih (Taipei); and Carmen Ho, Angelika Li, Chow Yiu-fai, Lam Tung-pang, Jeff Leung, Chen Ho-lok, G Yeung, Ellen Pau and Tse Ming-chong (Hong Kong).
The "Dialogue!" forum is presented by the LCSD and jointly organised by the Hong Kong Visual Arts Centre and Oi!, with the Academy of Visual Arts of the Hong Kong Baptist University, the School of Creative Media of the City University of Hong Kong, the Department of Fine Arts of the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the Jockey Club Design Institute for Social Innovation of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University as partners.
