At the invitation of the Central People's Government, the Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, will lead a delegation comprising members from various sectors of the community to Beijing tomorrow (September 2) to attend the commemorative activities of the 70th anniversary of victory of Chinese people's resistance against Japanese aggression and world anti-fascist war to be held on the following day, which include a commemorative rally and military parade in the morning and a cultural gala in the evening. Mr Leung will also attend a reception at noon.
Mr Leung will depart for Beijing tomorrow morning and return to Hong Kong in the afternoon of September 4. The Chief Secretary for Administration, Mrs Carrie Lam, will be Acting Chief Executive tomorrow morning and the Financial Secretary, Mr John C Tsang, will be Acting Chief Executive from tomorrow afternoon to the morning of September 4.
