The Official Receiver's Office (ORO) is very concerned about a public complaint about receiving mail purportedly relating to bankruptcy matters. A spokesman for the ORO today (August 14) reminded the public to immediately make a report to the Police if a scam is suspected.
The spokesman emphasised that members of the public should remain vigilant in regard to the identity of a caller or sender when being contacted by phone or mail. If there is doubt, members of the public should contact the handling case officer of the ORO direct by:
(a) using the search function "Contact Responsible Case Officers" via the "Contact Us" tag on the ORO's homepage (www.oro.gov.hk); or
(b) calling the ORO's hotline at 2867 2448.
