Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Yau Ma Tei this morning (June 9) in which a 53-year-old man was killed.
About 7.52am, a private car driven by a 48-year-old foreign man was travelling along Nga Cheung Road towards a car park on Austin Road West. When reaching the car parkĄ¯s entrance, the private car reportedly lost control and collided with another private car driven by a 52-year-old man waiting to depart the car park. It then hit the car parkĄ¯s water barriers, a 53-year-old man who was next to the water barriers, and some railings.
Sustaining serious head and shoulder injuries, the 53-year-old man was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in conscious state, and was certified dead at 2pm.
The 48-year-old private car driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for further enquiries.
Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West are underway.
