Police will implement special traffic arrangements on Sunday (May 24) to facilitate a public procession to be held in Kowloon.
A. Road closures
Traffic lanes on the following roads will be closed from 3pm to 5pm by phases:
- Ma Hang Chung Road west of To Kwa Wan Road;
- Northbound To Kwa Wan Road between Ma Hang Chung Road and Ma Tau Kok Road;
- Ma Tau Kok Road between Ma Tau Wai Road and To Kwa Wan Road;
- Southbound Ma Tau Wai Road between Ma Tau Kok Road and Shueng Heung Road;
- Sheung Heung Road between Ma Tau Wai Road and Cheung Ning Street; and
- Cheung Ning Street north of Sheung Heung Road.
B. Traffic diversions
When the procession marches on Ma Tau Kok Road between Kowloon City Road and Ma Tau Wai Road, vehicles along westbound Ma Tau Kok Road will be diverted to northbound Kowloon City Road. Vehicles along northbound Kowloon City Road cannot turn left to Ma Tau Kok Road.
Actual implementation of the traffic arrangements will be made depending on traffic and crowd conditions in the area. Motorists are advised to exercise tolerance and patience and take heed of instructions of Police at scene.
