Object fell from height case in North Point reclassified as manslaughter

     Police today (March 16) reclassified an object fell from height case in North Point on March 11 as manslaughter.

     At about 4.25am that day, Police received a report that a piece of concrete fell from height and hit a 33-year-old foreign woman at 433-437 KingĄ¯s Road.

     Police officers sped to the scene and found the woman lying on the podium of the building. Sustaining serious injuries to her lower part of body, the woman was rushed to Eastern Hospital in unconscious state for medical treatment and was certified dead at 7pm today.

     Post-mortem examinations will be conducted to ascertain the cause of death.

     Active investigations by the District Crime Squad of Eastern District are under way.
