In response to the reports in Issue 1295 of Next Magazine and NextPlus on January 6, 2015 concerning the Chief Executive's re-election, the Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, issued the following statement:
Regarding the reports saying that the Chief Executive has expressed to the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region his intention for not running for a re-election after his five-year term of office, the Chief Executive said that it was totally untrue. He expressed deep regret over the reports which were totally fabricated.
