Since the reconstruction works of Tuen Mun Road between Sham Tseng and Sam Shing Hui section are almost complete, the speed limit on that section will resume from 70 kilometres per hour to 80 km/h at midnight on December 31 (Wednesday). Appropriate traffic signs will be erected to remind motorists of the speed limit.
To assist in the reconstruction works on Tuen Mun Road, the speed limits on the section between Tsuen Wan and Ting Kau and the section between Sham Tseng and Sam Shing Hui have been temporarily reduced to 50 km/h and 70 km/h respectively since early 2012 in order to enhance the safety of road users and workers. The road reconstruction works have been progressing smoothly and the speed limit on the section between Tsuen Wan and Ting Kau returned to 70 km/h on October 12, 2014.
