The Financial Secretary, Mr John C Tsang, under the authority delegated by the Chief Executive, has re-appointed Professor Leonard Cheng Kwok-hon as a non-executive director of the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC). The re-appointment is for a term of two years from January 1, 2015.
Professor Cheng is the President and Chair Professor of Economics of Lingnan University.
Making the announcement today (December 29), a government spokesman said, "Professor Cheng has provided valuable advice and guidance on the performance of functions by the SFC during his tenure. We look forward to his continued support for the work of the SFC."
The SFC is chaired by Mr Carlson Tong. Other serving non-executive directors are Ms Teresa Ko Yuk-yin, Mr Lawrence Lee Kam-hung, Ms Ma Xuezheng, Mr Wong Kai-man, Dr William Wong Ming-fung and Dr Kelvin Wong Tin-yau.
