Police appeal to the public to avoid going to Mong Kok

     Police assisted the bailiffs to execute the Injunction Order on Argyle Street, Mong Kok today (November 25). During the operation, Police arrested a total of 23 people, including 18 males and 5 females, aged between 14 and 69, for the offences of criminal contempt of court, and resisting or obstructing public officers. Three police officers were also injured.

     Later on, a large crowd of protestors gathered in the vicinity of Portland Street and scuffled with Police officers at the scene. As at 8pm, Police arrested another 57 persons for offences including unlawful assembly, assaulting Police and obstructing Police officers.

     Police operation against the unlawful assembly in the vicinity of Shantung Street and Shanghai Street, Mong Kok is ongoing. Police urge the people at the scene to stay restrained, listen to the instructions of Police officers and leave immediately. They should not block the roads or obstruct the traffic. Police appeal to the public, in particular students, not to go to the above areas to avoid unnecessary injuries.
