The Government announced today (November 21) that Mr Lee Tak-keung has been appointed as a Full-time Member of the Central Policy Unit for a two-year term from November 24, 2014 to November 23, 2016.
Mr Lee is an experienced town planning professional, having worked in the Hong Kong Government for over 37 years, including the Lands Department, the Planning Department, and the Central Policy Unit. Mr Lee has also been posted to the then Land Development Corporation and Urban Renewal Authority (URA) to support the setting up of the URA. He has extensive experience in district planning, territorial””development strategy, and land and housing matters. His expertise also covers strategic Hong Kong/Guangdong co-operation, regional co-operation between Hong Kong and the Pearl River Delta region and Hong Kong's role in the National five-Year Plan.
Mr Lee will assist the Head of the Central Policy Unit, Mr Shiu Sin-por, in advising the Chief Executive, the Chief Secretary for Administration and the Financial Secretary on various public policy issues, in particular planning, housing and land supply, sustaining Hong Kong's economic growth, and Hong Kong-Mainland collaboration.
The Head of the Central Policy Unit was pleased with the appointment. He said he believed that Mr Lee's professionalism and experience would contribute greatly towards the Unit's work.
