The following is issued on behalf of the Wan Chai District Council:
Wan Chai District Council (WCDC) held the "Wan Chai Basic Law Promotion Day with Fun" today (April 27), aiming to enhance the knowledge of the Basic Law and its role as the constitutional document in the HKSAR among the residents in the district, especially the youngsters.
Guests including the Chairman of the WCDC, Mr Suen Kai-cheong; the District Officer (Wan Chai), Miss Angela Luk; and the Vice-chairman of the WCDC, Mr Stephen Ng, toured a number of places in the district on an open-top bus and distributed "Basic Law game cards" to the public. Messages on the Basic Law were also broadcast along the route.
The game cards, bearing articles of the Basic Law, were designed to help the public learn about the Basic Law in a lively way. The cards will be available free from tomorrow (April 28) at the Public Enquiry Service Centre of Wan Chai District Office on a first-come, first-served basis while stocks last.
The event is organised by the WCDC and co-organised by the Wan Chai District Office.
