The Government will close a portion of the footpath of Mong Lung Street near the Entrance/Exit B1 of Mass Transit Railway (MTR) Shau Kei Wan Station to facilitate improvement works at MTR Shau Kei Wan Station. The notices were published in the Government Gazette today (February 7).
A portion of the footpath will be permanently closed and altered from March 14, 2014, for the construction of a new MTR external lift. To facilitate works, another part of the footpath will be temporarily closed and altered for a period of about 28 months from the same date. During the construction period, pedestrians will be diverted and a footpath with a minimum width of about 2 metres will be maintained.
A plan showing the affected areas is available for public inspection at the Public Enquiry Service Centre, Eastern District Office, G/F, Eastern Law Courts Building, 29 Tai On Street, Sai Wan Ho, Hong Kong, and at the District Lands Office (Hong Kong East), 19/F, Southorn Centre, 130 Hennessy Road, Wan Chai, Hong Kong.
The Secretary for Development has, by order under section 10(1)(a) and section 10 (1)(b) of the Mass Transit Railway (Land Resumption and Related Provisions) Ordinance (Cap. 276), authorised the closure and alteration of roads for the purposes of construction, operation, maintenance or improvement of the MTR.
Any person entitled to compensation under the Ordinance who wishes to make a claim for compensation should write to the Director of Lands, 20/F, North Point Government Offices, 333 Java Road, North Point.
