Hong Kong Park: a great place to visit during Lunar New Year holiday
************************************************************

Hoping for a special Lunar New Year holiday? Don't miss the thematic exhibition on bulb plants being held at the Forsgate Conservatory of Hong Kong Park under the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, where you can enjoy a special lunar springtime by taking a look at various species of bulb plants and learning more about them.

Bulb plants have a swollen or enlarged stem or root which functions as a special organ for nutrient storage. Narcissus, lilium, tulip and hyacinthus are some common examples.

In addition to a display of about 50 special species of bulb plants, the exhibition also showcases their growth habits and the planting skills needed, including the optimum temperature for planting, light, soil type and watering methods using display panels with vivid textual and pictorial illustrations, thus providing comprehensive planting information for flower lovers.

Park visitors are invited to visit the exhibition, which is now open to the public free of charge from 9am to 5pm daily until February 16 (Sunday) at the Forsgate Conservatory of Hong Kong Park, Cotton Tree Drive, Central.

Besides touring the exhibition, members of the public can also visit the Arts Corner in Hong Kong Park, where 10 handicrafts and arts services stalls are in operation near the Flagstaff House Museum of Tea Ware from noon to 6pm on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.

For details of the above events, please call the Hong Kong Park at 2521 5041.
