Members of the Legislative Council (LegCo) held meetings today (January 23) with members of the Kwun Tong District Council (KTDC) and the Tai Po District Council (TPDC) respectively in Conference Room 1 and Conference Room 2 of the LegCo Complex to discuss and exchange views on matters of mutual interest.
During the meeting with the KTDC, LegCo Members discussed and exchanged views with KTDC members on the following issues: pedestrian accessibility to the facilities in the peripheral areas of the United Christian Hospital expansion project; barrier-free access facilities for connecting Lam Tin MTR Station, and the proposal to construct a pedestrian footbridge system in Kowloon Bay. The meeting was convened by Mr Andrew Leung and attended by Mr Chan Kam-lam, Ms Starry Lee, Mr Chan Kin-por, Dr Priscilla Leung, Mr Cheung Kwok-che, Mr Ip Kwok-him, Mr Paul Tse, Mr Alan Leong, Mr Wu Chi-wai, Mr Yiu Si-wing, Mr Ma Fung-kwok and Ms Chan Yuen-han.
As for the meeting with the TPDC, LegCo Members discussed and exchanged views with TPDC members on the following issues: district based development of recreational fisheries; extension of cycle track network to Lam Tsuen Wishing Square; new development of public rental housing and Home Ownership Scheme in Tai Po; school places allocation for cross-boundary students and overall education planning, and the road and traffic issues in Tai Po. The meeting was convened by Mr Chan Chi-chuen and attended by Mr Jeffery Lam, Mr Ronny Tong, Ms Starry Lee, Mr Chan Hak-kan, Mr Cheung Kwok-che, Mr Ip Kwok-him, Ms Chan Yuen-han, Dr Fernando Cheung and Mr Tang Ka-piu.
