Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Tai Po early this morning (December 27) in which a 35-year-old man died.
At about 4.50am, a taxi driven by a 35-year-old man was travelling along Tolo Highway towards Sha Tin. When reaching near Kam Shan, the taxi reportedly hit a private car which had broken down and stopped at scene.
After the impact, the man who drove the taxi was trapped inside the compartment. Falling unconscious after the rescue, he was sent to Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital and was certified dead at 5.34am. The 28-year-old male driver and a 29-year-old female passenger of the private car were injured and sent to the same hospital in conscious state.
Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North are underway.
