The Government today (December 27) announced the appointment of the Chairman of the Subsidised Primary Schools Council, Mr Langton Cheung Yung-pong, and the Chairman of the Hong Kong Special Schools Council, Ms Shum Siu-fong, to the Education Commission (EC) in their personal capacity for a two-year term with effect from January 1, 2014.
The Government also announced the re-appointment of one incumbent EC member, Dr Gordon Tsui Luen-on.
An Education Bureau spokesman said, "Given their rich experience in the education and professional sectors, we are confident that these three members will provide insightful views to EC deliberations."
The spokesman also thanked the outgoing members, Mr Sin Kim-wai and Mrs Connie Lo Ng Wai-fun, for their valuable contributions to the work of the EC.
