The Transport Department (TD) today (October 31) reminded the public that temporary traffic and transport arrangements to facilitate construction work on the Central-Wan Chai Bypass would be implemented for one year in Wan Chai North starting from 10am this Saturday (November 2) until 10am on October 31, 2014.
The temporary traffic and transport arrangements will mainly include:
Road closure
----------------
The section of Hung Hing Road eastbound at grade between Wan Shing Street and Hung Hing Road southbound and Hung Hing Road southbound at grade will be closed.
Banning of turning
------------------------
All vehicles will be temporarily prohibited from making a right turn from Hung Hing Road eastbound onto Marsh Road.
Traffic diversion
---------------------
1. The section of Marsh Road between Hung Hing Road and Wan Ying Street will be converted from two-way traffic to one-way northbound traffic;
2. The section of Hung Hing Road between Marsh Road and Wan Shing Street will be converted from two-way traffic to one-way eastbound traffic;
3. The section of Wan Shing Street between Hung Hing Road and Wan Ying Street will be converted from one-way northbound traffic to one-way southbound traffic;
4. The section of Wan Shing Street between Wan Ying Street and Wan Shing Street westbound will be converted from one-way northbound traffic to two-way traffic;
5. Wan Shing Street westbound will be converted to two-way traffic;
6. Vehicles on Hung Hing Road eastbound heading for Hung Hing Road eastbound at grade east of Wan Shing Street will be diverted via Wan Shing Street;
7. Vehicles on Hung Hing Road eastbound heading for Marsh Road flyover will be diverted via Wan Shing Street and Wan Ying Street; and
8. Vehicles on Wan Shing Street heading for Hung Hing Road westbound or Hung Hing Road flyover will be diverted via Wan Ying Street and Marsh Road northbound.
Public transport services

A total of 16 bus routes operating in the affected areas will be temporarily diverted. The bus companies concerned will arrange publicity to inform passengers of the temporary arrangements.
Appropriate traffic signs and road markings will be erected on site to guide motorists. In case of traffic congestion, motorists should exercise tolerance and patience, and follow the instructions of the Police.
The TD and the Police will closely monitor the traffic situation and implement appropriate measures whenever necessary.
