Funding Scheme on Studies on Social Impact of Social Enterprises launched
*****************************************************

The Home Affairs Bureau today (October 25) launched the Funding Scheme on Studies on Social Impact of Social Enterprises (SEs). The deadline for application is December 20, 2013.

The Scheme aims to provide funding for interested parties to conduct studies or projects on the social impact of the SE sector in Hong Kong.

"We are delighted to note the development of our SE sector on various fronts over the past years. We see the merits of supporting more sector-wide impact studies, with a view to facilitating public understanding of the contributions of the SE sector to the community and the promotion of the sector for wider support and collaboration," a spokesman for the Home Affairs Bureau said.

The Funding Scheme is open to all universities, research institutions, SE platforms and organisations, individual SEs and more.

Maximum funding for each approved application will be $200,000 for five studies/projects at most. Applicants are expected to complete their work within 18 months after the funding is granted.

For more details, please refer to the application guidelines (www.hab.gov.hk/file_manager/en/documents/related_departments_organizations/advisory_statutory_bodies/sise_application_guidelines.doc) on the website of the Home Affairs Bureau.
