Highlight events supporting the "Hong Kong: Our Home" Campaign this week include not only physically demanding activities, but also programmes to raise spirits.
Sport For All Day 2013 on August 4 aims to promote the good habit of daily exercise with family members, which is reflected in the event's slogan "Stay Active. Exercise every day with your family".
Another key objective of Sport For All Day 2013 is to remind Hong Kong people to spare at least 30 minutes a day to do physical exercise to stay agile and healthy.
Various Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) indoor and outdoor facilities will be available to the public free of charge on August 4.
To encourage family participation, a range of free Parent-Child Sports Programmes including mini sports games, social dance events and badminton participation activities will be held on the day.

The exhibition match between Hong Kong First Division League team Kitchee and English Premier League team Manchester United tomorrow (July 29) will prompt a new wave of football mania in Hong Kong.
The exhibition match is supported by the Mega Events Fund and is expected to attract a sell-out crowd of 40,000 spectators at Hong Kong Stadium.
Kitchee has collected numerous trophies and honours in the past, which most recently have included the Hong Kong FA Cup in 2011-12 and 2012-13 and the 2011-12 Hong Kong First Division League championship.
Hong Kong is Manchester United's last stop on its Manchester United Tour 2013.

Young people who aspire to be professional football players can consider joining the Jockey Club Youth Football Development Programme - Training Scheme 2013-2014. The application deadline is July 31.
The training scheme is organised by the Hong Kong Football Association for young football players, both boys and girls, aged between 7 and 18.
The scheme offers formal and continual training to young players with potential and helps them cultivate sportsmanship and teamwork. There will be 30 to 45 training sessions, and the scheme will run until May 2014.
Applicants will be invited to attend four selection training sessions in August and September. Successful applicants will be selected based on four criteria: approach to discipline, attendance rate, practice performance and technical tests.
Outstanding players will be selected to join the Regional Youth Team and to represent the Hong Kong Football Association to play in international competitions.

The final two free programmes organised in support of the International Arts Carnival 2013 will delight people of all ages.
The children's adventure theatre production "Beacon in the Dark" will be staged in Cantonese at the Auditorium of Tuen Mun Town Hall on July 30 and 31.
Children will join YoYo, the main character in the show, for an amazing 50-minute adventure. There will be two shows each day and admission is free.
Admission is also free for the Summer Fun Party 2013: "Adventure in Animal Kingdom", presented in Cantonese on August 3 and 4 at Queen Elizabeth Stadium in Wan Chai.
Children will enjoy a range of fun and exciting entertainment set in the animal kingdom, including magic, acrobatic, clown and puppet performances, as well as an African drum-and-dance show. Parents and children can also join workshops to make puppets and handicrafts together.

All these events support the "Hong Kong: Our Home" public participation campaign, which aims to inject positive energy into society, foster social cohesion and promote care, mutual help and solidarity in the community.
More than 220 Partner Organisations have so far pledged their support for the Campaign.
Altogether, the Government and Partner Organisations are organising more than 900 events/activities under the four supporting themes of the Campaign from the end of April to the end of December this year.
