On June 7, Hong Kong welcomed 39 teams from 13 countries to the 49th Asia Pacific Bridge Federation Championships. Five local teams representing Hong Kong will join the 10-day event. They have been trained intensively for months in this tactical mind game.
A six-women Hong Kong team invited news.gov.hk to a training session, to demonstrate the teamwork involved in what has been described as the world's most challenging mental game.
Two university students explained their addiction to bridge - and how they are winning other young players over to the game by showing, not telling, how much fun it can be.
Hong Kong Contract Bridge Association President Derek Zen said the game could bring together players of different ages, gender and occupations. The association will organise more activities to provide more platforms to help younger people discover this enduring pastime.
The story appears today (June 9) in news.gov.hk in both text and video format.
