Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Castle Peak this morning (May 26) in which a 78-year-old woman died.
At about 9.40am, a public light bus driven by a 66-year-old man was travelling along Wu Chui Road towards the pier. When reaching near Miami Beach Towers, it reportedly knocked down the 78-year-old woman who was crossing the road.
The woman sustained serious head injury and was rushed to Tuen Mun Hospital where she was certified dead at 9.03pm.
The driver, arrested for dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm earlier, has been released on police bail and shall report back in late June.
The case will be handed over to the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North.
