Police today (March 22) reclassified a dead body found case happened on March 19 in Kwai Chung as homicide and suicide.
At about 10.15pm on that day, Police received a report that someone was found dead in a unit of Kwai Tai House, Kwai Fong Estate. Police arrived the scene and found a 38-year-old man and his 35-year-old wife lying unconscious in the bedroom of the unit. Their bodies were decomposed and they were certified dead at scene. A basin of burnt charcoal was also found in the bedroom.
An initial post-mortem examination conducted on the deceased today detected suspicious injuries on the rear head and neck of the woman. It is suspected that the woman had been attacked before her death. Further examination will be conducted to ascertain the cause of death.
Investigations by the District Crime Squad of Kwai Tsing District are underway.
