An inmate attacked Correctional Services staff at Lai Chi Kok Reception Centre today (March 22), causing injuries to two officers.
At about 7.20am, the male inmate, aged 21, turned emotional during an interview and pushed the interviewing officer to the floor. Reinforcement officers attempted to stop the inmate but encountered serious resistance. The officers subsequently subdued the inmate by using OC foam.
Two officers and the inmate sustained injuries during the incident and were given medical treatment at the centre hospital. One of the officers was transferred to a public hospital for further medical examination.

The case has been reported to the Police for investigation.
The inmate was jailed for a loitering offence.
