Two women will be holding charged with manslaughter

     Police today (March 21) reclassified a person collapsed case in Happy Valley that occurred on March 17 as manslaughter. Two women aged 40 and 70 will be jointly holding charged with one count of manslaughter later tonight.

     At about 8.41am on that day, Police received a report that a 52-year-old man collapsed inside a unit on Tai Hang Road, Happy Valley. The man was certified dead at Ruttonjee Hospital at 9.10am on the same day.

     Initial examination and a post-mortem examination conducted on the deceased on March 19 and 20 respectively detected a suspicious neck wound. Further examination will be conducted to ascertain the cause of death.

     The two women, both foreign domestic helpers of the deceased, were arrested yesterday (March 19) in suspected connection with the case. Some strings were seized at the unit.

     The two arrestees will appear in Eastern Magistrates¡¯ Court tomorrow (March 22).

     Active investigations by the District Crime Squad of Wan Chai are underway.
