Contracts awarded for provision of IT staff services to Government
********************************************************

The Office of the Government Chief Information Officer (OGCIO) today (January 29) announced the award of contracts under the Tender for the Provision of IT Contract Staff Services to the Government of the HKSAR (commonly known as T23 tender).

Under the T23 tender, the Government has appointed 13 contractors to provide IT contract staff services to government departments on an as-and-when-required basis for a term of three years starting from February 1.

The contracts are non-exclusive in nature. During the contract period, government departments requiring supplementary IT staff services may invite bids from the 13 contractors and award offers to the companies which can provide the most suitable personnel based on price, qualification and experience assessments. It will allow departments the flexibility to adjust their IT manpower in different phases of project implementation.

Speaking at the contract signing ceremony today, the Government Chief Information Officer, Mr Daniel Lai, said, "The emergence of new technologies such as cloud computing and mobile applications make new demands for well-qualified IT professionals."

The T23 contracts would provide a sizeable pool of information and communications technology (ICT) talent to supplement the manpower requirements of the Government in feasibility studies, systems design and development, and maintenance and operation, Mr Lai noted.

The list of T23 contractors is available at www.ogcio.gov.hk/en/business/business_window/contractor_list.htm.
