The Government intends to allow Castle Peak Power Company Limited to construct a supplementary seawater pumping station at Black Point Power Station (BPPS), Tuen Mun. The pumping station will supplement seawater supply to the existing BPPS seawater cooling system during low tides and enhance the system's efficiency in augmenting the reliability of gas power generation.
The marine works include construction of a seawater intake box culvert extending from the existing seawall at the shore of BPPS and dredging near the culvert. About 2,853.5 square metres of foreshore and seabed will be affected. The proposed project is scheduled to commence in the second quarter of 2013 and to be completed by the second quarter of 2014.
The extent of the foreshore and seabed area affected is stated in a notice published in the Government Gazette today (January 18).
The notice together with its related plan can be viewed on notice boards posted near the site. The plan can also be seen on the Lands Department website (www.landsd.gov.hk) under Government Notices; at the Lands Department Survey and Mapping Office, 23/F, North Point Government Offices, 333 Java Road, North Point, Hong Kong (where copies can be purchased on order); and at the Tuen Mun District Office, Public Enquiry Service Centre, 2/F, Tuen Mun Government Offices, 1 Tuen Hi Road, Tuen Mun, New Territories.
Any person who considers that he or she has an interest, right or easement in or over the foreshore and seabed involved may submit a written objection to the Director of Lands, 20/F, North Point Government Offices, 333 Java Road, North Point, Hong Kong, by March 18.
