In response to media enquiries, a spokesman for the Transport and Housing Bureau said that the Government met with the Real Estate Developers Association of Hong Kong (REDA) this afternoon (December 7) on the new measures to address the overheated property market.
"We have listened carefully to the REDA's views and will take them into account when drafting the enabling legislation for the enhanced Special Stamp Duty and introduction of the Buyer's Stamp Duty. Our current plan is to submit the Stamp Duty (Amendment) Bill 2013 into the Legislative Council in January 2013," the spokesman said.
